Manchester United’s incoming boss Erik ten Hag reportedly wants to bring Ajax ace, Sébastien Haller, to the Old Trafford stadium as per the report in English outlet The Sun

The Red Devils have announced that the 52-year-old boss will succeed Ralf Rangnick next season. The German will become the club’s advisor for the next two years in order to help the Dutchman in rebuilding the club.

Haller is enjoying a stellar campaign this term, scoring 33 goals and registering nine assists in 38 games in all competitions. And now as per the report, Ten Hag is eager to bring the Ivory Coast international along with himself to the Old Trafford stadium.

The 27-year-old still has three years remaining in his current contract and the report is claiming that a price of around £35 million will be enough to persuade the Eredivisie giants in selling their starman.

Our View:

Signing Sébastien Haller could be a big gamble for Manchester United, however, if Erik ten Hag wants to bring the Ivorian then the Red Devils’ hierarchy should sign the striker.

The 27-year-old endured a torrid time in the Premier League during his time at West Ham United. But, he has rejuvenated his career under the Dutchman’s tutelage.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are eyeing a squad overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window and they need to strengthen the squad in several areas. Midfield is one of the positions where the Red Devils need strengthening.

With Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic leaving the club at the end of this season, signing multiple players in that position will be a shrewd decision by the club’s hierarchy. On the other hand, Edinson Cavani is likely to leave the club following the conclusion of this season. Therefore, United will be thin in number for the striker position and signing a new forward will also be a good decision for Manchester United.
