Manchester United are reportedly keen on bringing Ajax Amsterdam manager Erik Ten Hag to the Old Trafford stadium as per the report in English outlet Mirror

The Dutchman joined de Godenzonen back in 2017 from fellow Eredivisie side FC Utrecht. Since then, the 51-year-old has led the club to two league titles and as many cup glories, and also took the young Ajax team to the Champions League semi-final in 2019 where they fell short to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the report, Manchester United have identified that Erik Ten Hag could be the perfect candidate to become the next manager after the Dutchman has revealed that he wants to take a new challenge in his career.

The report further claims that the Red Devils hierarchy are impressed by the Ajax’s boss ability to nurture young talents and also his capability to rejuvenate the players’ like Sebastien Haller, Daley Blind, Davy Klaassen, Steven Berghuis, Dusan Tadic and Maarten Stekelenburg’s careers who all have previously failed during their time in the Premier League

Should Manchester United sign Erik Ten Hag?

Erik Ten Hag could be a perfect candidate to take charge at Manchester United. The Dutch manager has already showcased his efficiency during his time at the Johan Cruyijff Arena and the Red Devils fans will be hoping that the 51-year-old will be able to bring success at the Old Trafford stadium if he was to join the record Premier League champions.

However, it is yet to be seen how Manchester United will end this season under the interim boss Ralf Rangnick. If the 63-year-old boss manages to bring success at the end of this season then it will be hard for the club hierarchy to remove the German boss from the managerial position. So, it will be interesting to see how the Red Devils perform under him.

Meanwhile, United have found back to back clean sheets under the German boss in the Premier League and the Old Trafford faithful will be hoping that their team will continue to improve under Rangnick and overcome the trophy drought at the end of this season.
