Manchester United’s incoming boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly eyeing a move for West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen as per the report in Spanish outlet Fichajes

The 25-year-old joined the Hammers back in 2019 for a fee of around £19 million from Championship side Hull City. Following a productive couple of seasons at the London Stadium, the winger is enjoying a stellar campaign this term, scoring 16 goals and notching up nine assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

According to the report, Manchester United have already started planning their squad for next season following the appointment of Erik ten Hag and although big names have already been mentioned as the targets of the Red Devils, a few names are also on the Dutchman’s wishlist who could be a good fit if they fail to secure a deal for their first-choice options.

West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen is one of the players who is looked at by the incoming United boss ten Hag in order to resolve their wide areas. However, the Englishman still has a contract until 2025 and therefore, he won’t be a cheap option for the record Premier League champions.

Our View:

Signing Jarrod Bowen could be a good acquisition for Manchester United. The winger has already showcased his talent in the Premier League, therefore, he will be a less risky option for the Red Devils to resolve their right-wing position.

However, the Hammers’ boss David Moyes will not be happy to lose one of his main goal scorers. So, the London club could ask for a huge transfer fee to let their star forward leave.

With the Red Devils eyeing a squad overhaul this summer, spending a big chunk of the transfer budget on one player could leave big holes in other areas of the squad. So, the new United boss will have to be careful about his spending.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will reportedly be ready to invest heavily in the upcoming transfer window. And it will be interesting to see how Erik ten Hag spends the transfer budget to resolve the issues in his squad, given it will be the Dutchman’s first transfer window where he will get to spend big.
