Manchester United are reportedly keeping transfer targets secret as per the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

It is an open secret that the Red Devils’ new boss Erik ten Hag has demanded the signature of Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong. While the 52-year-old is reportedly willing to bring Jurrien Timber and Antony to Old Trafford from his former club Ajax Amsterdam.

However, speaking on GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the aforementioned players are not the only targets Manchester United are trying to sign this summer. They have other targets as well which the record Premier League champions are keeping a secret. He said:

“I’m sure that there are other targets that they want to try to keep secret as part of the market. I would say that these are not the only names for Manchester United. I’m sure that they are working on many possibilities.”

Our View:

Following the conclusion of the previous campaign, Manchester United promised that they are looking to rebuild the squad under the guidance of the new manager Erik ten Hag.

However, after making no business so far this summer, it seems the Dutchman might have to work with the same squad next summer who have failed the previous two managers.

The Red Devils finished sixth in the league last term with the lowest points tally in their Premier League history and it was thought that the club would react following a disappointing campaign.

However, as it stands the club’s hierarchy are seemingly in no rush to bring some new faces and freshen the squad up and offload some of their fringe players who are not in Ten Hag’s plan.

Nevertheless, there are still two months left before the end of the summer transfer window. And it can be expected that Manchester United will sign a few players in order to help the new manager to match the club’s lofty ambitions.
