Football News now: Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has encountered a huge crisis as up to 11 stars are looking to move away from the Old Trafford stadium as per the report in English outlet Mirror.
Following disappointing displays under the former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils hierarchy decided to dismiss the Norwegian and appointed the German tactician to steady the ship until the end of this season. However, the performance is yet to improve under the 63-year-old and the Old Trafford outfit suffered their first defeat under the interim boss against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
According to the report, Ralf Rangnick is looking to unite Manchester United players as there appear to be cliques inside the dressing room. The German has now faced a similar problem which led to the sacking of former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The report further claims that there was favouritism under the former manager and the situation hasn’t changed under the 63-year-old as the same players keep on getting chances despite not producing their bests. Few players have also criticised the German boss’ coaching methods and his tactics.
Meanwhile, Jesse Lingard, Donny Van De Beek, Dean Henderson and Eric Bailly have expressed their frustration due to the lack of game time under the previous regime as well as under the new manager.
Football News now: What is the future of Manchester United under Ralf Rangnick?
Football News now: Following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils faithful thought there will be some changes in tactics and the team will improve under a more tactically nous manager. However, despite being at the club for almost a month, there hasn’t been any progression in the on-field display from Rangnick’s side.
The 63-year-old is looking to go forward with his preferred 4-2-2-2 formation. But, it will be tough to play with this system without world-class midfielders in the squad. Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic are not good enough to play every game at the Old Trafford stadium. So, it will be hard for the German boss to achieve success in this system, with the aforementioned midfielders in the squad.
Meanwhile, the former Leipzig manager has emphasized playing with high intensity, proactive style of football. However, since the first half an hour against Crystal Palace, the Red Devils have been producing lacklustre performances under the German tactician.
So, there will be a lot of work to be done for Rangnick to implement his philosophy in the squad. If some players want to leave the club then the Red Devils should allow their departure and continue with the players who are fully committed to playing for Manchester United.
