Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he is worried about two Manchester United youngsters Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood ahead of Sunday’s encounter at Old Trafford.
The former joined the Red Devils from German giants Borussia Dortmund for around £73 million and the latter is a youth product of the club’s academy.
Sancho has struggled to showcase his talent so far this season after making the move and failed to score or assist, having made 11 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. On the other hand, Greenwood has enjoyed a productive start to the new campaign, scoring four goals in eight league outings.
Speaking in the press ahead of the North-West derby, Klopp praised Sancho and said that the Englishman is a wonderful talent and has everything in his arsenal to become one of the best players in future. He said:
“Jadon Sancho is a world-class talent, definitely. He has all the things you need to become really one of the best players in the world in the future, that’s how it is. But he’s still very young. At Dortmund, they were full of praise about him and rightly so. I saw a lot of games of him playing outstandingly well. Some people lose patience a little bit quickly and don’t forget the options United has in this position.”
Speaking about Greenwood, the German boss has said that the 20-year-old is a world-class talent and his recent display has pushed Sancho away from the regular first-team actions. However, there is nothing to worry about as both will become great players in future. Liverpool boss stated:
“Mason Greenwood? Wow! What a talent he is. I think that he has maybe pushed Jadon out of position. Mason can play in the centre, but there is no space anymore, so maybe they will share. It’s a problem that you want to have as a manager, 100 per cent. So everything will be fine for Jadon – we just hope not on Sunday.”
Jurgen Klopp is worried about Manchester United duo:
Jadon Sancho is a great acquisition for Manchester United and will become a great asset for the Red Devils in future. The Englishman will need ample time to settle down in the new surroundings.
With world-class experienced players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are already at Solskjaer’s disposal, the pressure will be less on the young man’s shoulders.
Meanwhile, after being dropped in the previous game against Atalanta, it will be interesting to see if Solskjaer will go with Sancho against Liverpool or not. With Rashford is in doubt to start the game on Sunday, there is a likelihood of seeing Greenwood and Sancho on both flanks for Manchester United against the team of Jurgen Klopp.
