Latest football news: Manchester United have reportedly made known to the new interim manager Ralf Rangnick that funds are ready to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window as per the report in English outlet The Times.
The Red Devils hired the 63-year-old after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to woeful display under the former manager. However, things haven’t gone according to the plans yet as the performance hasn’t improved under the German boss and the Old Trafford outfit have suffered their first defeat under Rangnick against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
According to the report, Manchester United are set to be busy in this January transfer window as Donny Van De Beek, Dean Henderson and Anthony Martial are looking to move away from the Old Trafford stadium and the club’s hierarchy are willing to strengthen the squad before the end of this month.
Amadou Haidara is among the players who could be the potential arrival to strengthen the midfield position. And Julian Alvarez is another player who is heavily linked with a move to the Old Trafford stadium. Meanwhile, Erling Braut Haaland is another name, United are keen on signing but the Red Devils might have to wait until June for the Norwegian forward.
Latest football news: Will Manchester United be able to strengthen their squad in January?
Latest football news: Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield position in this January transfer window and signing Amadou Haidara will be a very good addition for the Red Devils midfield. But, he will be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations until February. So, the Old Trafford outfit will have to wait until next month to get the Malian’s service if the record Premier League champions can pull off this deal before the end of this month.
With Anthony Martial looking to move away from the Old Trafford stadium and Marcus Rashford showing concerning display on the pitch, signing a new forward would be a shrewd decision from Manchester United. Therefore, Julian Alvarez will be a very good addition to the United squad, but the youngster will need enough time to settle down in the new surroundings and the new league.
Rangnick should give Donny Van De Beek more game time in order to persuade him to stay. The Dutchman has always displayed very tidy performances whenever he was given chances and the former Ajax man should play more in midfield over Scott McTominay and Fred.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing defeat against the Wolves, Manchester United will face Aston Villa in their next game in the F.A Cup on 10th January. Steven Gerrard’s side will be Red Devils’ opponent five days later when they go head-to-head at Villa Park in Premier League.
