Man United latest transfer news: Manchester United have reportedly prepared a five-man shortlist for the interim managerial role as per the report in English outlet The Telegraph

Following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils have started their search for a new manager. The Old Trafford club earlier stated that they are eyeing an interim manager until the end of this season and then will go for a permanent boss in the summer.

According to the report, The record Premier League champions have shortlisted Ernesto Valverde, Ralf Rangnick, Lucien Favre and Rudi García for the interim role and another report is suggesting that the fifth candidate on the list is Paulo Fonseca.

The report is claiming that United are eyeing a manager who will steady the ship until the end of this season and then the Red Devils hierarchy will go for their targets for the permanent role and reportedly Mauricio Pochettino and Eric Ten Hag are among the names that the Premier League giants are looking to appoint in the summer.

Man United latest transfer news: Who could be a good fit for the interim role for Manchester United?

Man United latest transfer news: The appointment of an interim boss might not be a shrewd decision from Manchester United at this stage of the season. On top of that, if the temporary manager will have to work with the group of coaches that the Red Devils have at the moment then that will not be promising news for the Old Trafford faithful.

Kieran McKenna, Michael Carrick and Mike Phelan were involved in the decision making and coaching of the team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Therefore, these coaching staffs are also responsible for the recent downfall under the Norwegian boss. So, if the interim manager will have to work with them then that might not make any difference in performances.

If the Red Devils hierarchy decide to bring an interim manager then he should be allowed to bring his coaching team in order to implement his philosophy in the squad. However, in that case, if the interim boss does well until the end of this season then the question will arrive whether Manchester United should give him the permanent job or not. Therefore, the Red Devils hierarchy should be looking to hire a permanent boss as soon as possible.
