Man United latest transfer news: Manchester United have reportedly identified that Laurent Blanc could be a perfect candidate for the interim manager role until the end of this season as per the report in Football Insider

Following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils hierarchy have appointed Michael Carrick as the caretaker manager before bringing in an interim boss. Along with the former midfielder, the club have decided to keep all the Norwegian’s back rook staff, including Mike Phelan and Kieran McKenna.

According to the report in Football Insider, Manchester United are eyeing a move for Laurent Blanc due to his connection with the club and has a great relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson. The 56-year-old will be given an interim role until the end of this season but could get a full-time job, considering his performance during this period.

The former PSG boss is currently managing the Qatari club Al Rayyan. The record Premier League champions will have to pay compensation in order to lure him to the Old Trafford stadium. So, it will be interesting to see if the Frenchman can be persuaded to leave a permanent job to accept an interim role.

Man United latest transfer news: Will United sign Laurent Blanc as an interim manager?

Man United latest transfer news: Bringing in an interim boss until the end of this season will not be a great decision from the Manchester United hierarchy, given we are only in November and there are plenty of games still to play in this campaign.

The Red Devils still have chances to finish in the top four spot and win a trophy. So, writing off the season before December will not go down very well among the fans. Meanwhile, there are few players whose contracts will end at the end of this season and without a permanent manager at the helm, it will be tough to make any decisions regarding their futures.

Therefore, Manchester United should display a proactive approach and sign a manager permanently in the upcoming weeks.

The Red Devils are currently sitting eighth in the Premier League table with 17 points in 12 games, 12 points away from the leader Chelsea and six points behind the fourth-placed West Ham United. With plenty of games still in hand, Manchester United might still make a very good run until the end of this season if they bring in a tactically sound manager.
