Manchester United are reportedly showing interest in Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka as per the report in German outlet Bild(via MEN).
The 22-year-old joined the Bundesliga side back in 2018 from the French side AJ Auxerre. The Frenchman has enjoyed a productive campaign this term, scoring four goals and notching up as many assists in 30 appearances in the league.
According to the report, Ndicka has impressed Manchester United with his impressive display this season and the Red Devils could make a move for the youngster, given the record Premier League champions are keen on strengthening their defence this summer.
The report further claims that Frankfurt could be looking to cash in on their star man this summer in fear of losing the youngster for free in the following summer, given the defender’s current contract will expire at the end of next season. The German club might demand a fee of around €20 million for Ndicka who is valued at around €28 million by the Transfermarket website.
Manchester United will be looking to overhaul their squad in the summer transfer window and signing young talents like Evan Ndicka could be a shrewd decision by the club’s hierarchy.
A flurry of players are set to leave the Old Trafford stadium this summer, while Phil Jones and Eric Bailly have been mentioned as the potential candidates who are eyeing the exit door. With club captain Harry Maguire struggling to showcase his best this season, signing a new defender has become an absolute necessity.
The 22-year-old is a prototype of a modern centre-back. He is quick, strong, brilliant in the air and most importantly has the recovery pace to play in a high defensive line. He is also comfortable with possession and can play threading passes between the lines.
So, the Frenchman has every attribute to become a world-class defender in years to come and could establish himself as a key member of Erik ten Hag’s system alongside Raphael Varane.
