Manchester United are reportedly showing an interest in VfB Stuttgart forward Sasa Kalajdzic as per the report by German transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck(via Sky Germany).

The 24-years-old joined the Bundesliga side back in 2019 from the Austrian side Flyeralarm Admira. The striker enjoyed a stellar campaign last term, scoring 16 goals and notching up five assists in 33 league appearances.

Meanwhile, the Austrian’s season was cut short this term due to injury issues and missed the entire first half of the campaign before returning in January, scoring six goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances and helping his side to avoid relegation.

According to the report, Manchester United have inquired about Sasa Kalajdzic and are showing interest in signing the VfB Stuttgart forward. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are preparing to start negotiation with the VfB about a potential transfer of the 24-years-old and Borussia Dortmund are also eyeing a move for him.

The journalist Behrenbeck has also stated that PSG are also showing interest in the highly-rated forward. The journalist said:

“This week there is the first round of negotiations about Sasa Kalajdzic with FC Bayern. He’s on Dortmund’s list. Paris have also expressed an interest, United have inquired about him, but so far there has been no contact from the clubs to VfB.”

Our View:

Manchester United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick has earlier stated that the Red Devils need to sign two young forwards in the summer and Sasa Kalajdzic could be one of his recommendations.

The record Premier League champions have already started planning their summer business with the new manager Erik ten Hag, whilst Darwin Nunez and Victor Osimhen have been mentioned as the potential targets for the Old Trafford outfit.

Following his stint as the interim boss, Rangnick will become the consultant of the club. And simultaneously the 63-year-old will be taking charge as the Austrian national team head coach. So, this could open up the pathway for the Red Devils’ hierarchy to sign the talented Austrian forward with the help of the German tactician.

Sasa Kalajdzic will be a feasible option and should be happy to play as a second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo for the first couple of seasons before establishing himself as a regular starter for Manchester United.
