Manchester United are reportedly lining up a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie as per the report from Rudy Galetti

The Red Devils are keen on bringing in a new central midfielder in this upcoming winter transfer window and have already been linked with numerous different names. The Ivory Coast international is another name that has now entered into this speculation.

The 24-years-old’s current contract with the Rossoneri will expire at the end of this season and the Serie A side have already offered a new contract to the former Atalanta midfielder. However, the offer didn’t match the player’s demands and both parties are distant from agreeing on a new deal.

According to Rudy Galetti, Milan are reportedly ready to offer around €6.5(£5.5) million salary per annum but the player’s entourage is asking for at least €9(£7.6) million to extend the contract.

Galetti further claims that the agent of Franck Kessie is not willing to lower their demands after receiving offers from Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur of around €10(£8.5) million. And apart from the aforementioned two clubs, Manchester United are also keen on landing the Ivorian to the Old Trafford stadium.

Will Franck Kessie be a good signing for Manchester United?

Signing Franck Kessie will be a great acquisition for Manchester United. The midfielder has already showcased his talent in Italian football and the Old Trafford faithful will be hoping that the 24-years-old will be able to replicate the same performance in the Premier League if the Red Devils hierarchy can pull off this deal.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to stay active in this January transfer window and signing a new midfielder should be the priority for the interim boss Ralf Rangnick. With the futures of Paul Pogba and Donny Van De Beek are yet to be resolved, reinforcing the midfield will be a shrewd decision from the club hierarchy.

Meanwhile, Kessie will be an apt option for Rangnick’s high pressing system as the midfielder’s energy and dynamism will help the German boss to implement his style of play. The Ivorian is also good in the air which will be beneficial in both ends of the pitch.

So, it will be interesting to see who will end up at the Old Trafford stadium at the end of next month’s transfer window. However, signing Franck Kessie will be a great addition to the Manchester United squad.
