Manchester United are reportedly lining up a move for Borussia Dortmund youngster Youssoufa Moukoko if Marcus Rashford leaves the club at the end of this season as per the report in German outlet Bild.
The 24-years-old is enduring a difficult campaign this term, scoring four goals and notching up two assists in 18 Premier League appearances. The United forward has lost his place in the first team berth in recent weeks to youngster Anthony Elanga.
Having failed to impress interim manager Ralf Rangnick, the Englishman has found it difficult to break into the starting eleven and the recent reports are claiming that the Englishman is frustrated with the lack of game time at the Old Trafford stadium and willing to find his future elsewhere.
According to the report, Manchester United are weighing up a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko if Rashford forces a move away from the Old Trafford stadium.
The report further claimed that the 17-year-old is considering his future away from the German giants due to the lack of game time at the Signal Iduna Park.
Moukoko has a contract with BVB until June 2023. However, the player’s agent has revealed that his client is not willing to commit his future to the Bundesliga giants.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will face a stern challenge from the fellow Premier League clubs for the youngster’s signature as other English clubs are also showing interest in the 17-year-old.
Signing Youssoufa Moukoko could be an excellent addition for Manchester United in the long term future. However, the German will not be a direct replacement for Marcus Rashford.
The Dortmund star is only 17-year-old and he will need time to adapt to the Premier League if the Red Devils hierarchy can manage to get this deal over the line.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has failed to showcase his best this season and it was the right decision by the interim boss Ralf Rangnick to drop the Englishman and select his first team based on the player’s recent performances.
However, it was pathetic to see Rashford willing to move away rather than working hard and regain his place in the starting line-up. This showed a weak mentality of the 24-years-old and it will be interesting to see what the Red Devils’ hierarchy decide about Rashford’s future.
