Manchester United midfielder Donny Van De Beek has been used as a coach in the warm-up ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur game and few fans expressed disappointment about the Dutchman’s treatment at the club.
The 24-years-old signed for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side last summer from Ajax Amsterdam for around £35 million. However, the move has been a complete disaster for the Netherlands international as he made only four starts in the Premier League ever since and hasn’t played a single minute for the Red Devils, following the EFL Cup defeat against West Ham United.
A video uploaded by a United fan on social media showed that Van de Beek was used as a setter in shooting drills for the first team members. The midfielder’s job was to lay off the ball for his colleagues before they took the kicks.
The former Ajax star was warming up with the substitutes but he was called upon to do a coach’s job for his teammates. The person who took the video was unhappy about the midfielder’s current situation at the club and along with him, a few others have also expressed their disappointment on Social media.
Van de Beek to leave Manchester United in January:
Donny van de Beek has reportedly been unhappy with his role at Manchester United and has recently changed his agent in order to engineer a move away from the Old Trafford stadium in January.
Solskjaer’s approach toward the Dutchman is baffling as his preferred midfield options Fred and Scott McTominay have struggled to showcase consistency so far this season. However, the former Ajax man was never considered by the Norwegian boss, despite displaying very tidy performances whenever the midfielder got the chance.
With Manchester United already out of the EFL Cup, the first team appearances have dried up even more for the Netherlands international. So, in order to rejuvenate his career, finding the future away from Old Trafford will be the right decision for Donny Van De Beek.
