Manchester United are reportedly showing interest in RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele as per the report in German outlet Fussball Transfers.
The 24-years-old joined the Bundesliga giants back in 2018 from the French side Montpellier. The Frenchman has enjoyed a productive campaign this term, scoring a solitary goal and assisting three times in 28 league appearances.
According to the report, Manchester United are keen on signing Nordi Mukiele in the summer transfer window. However, signing the defender will not be easy for the Red Devils as PSG, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also eyeing a move for the 24-years-old.
Meanwhile, Bild is reporting that Leipzig haven’t started any contract negotiations with the highly-rated defender despite his current contract will expire at the end of next season. Die Roten Bullen could ask around €10 million for the Frenchman if he were to leave the club this summer.
Nordi Mukiele could be a great addition to the Manchester United squad. The 24-years-old is a versatile player and can play right-back as well as the centre-back position.
The Red Devils are struggling with their right-back situation as Aaron Wan-Bissaka has failed to break into the starting eleven following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot hasn’t showcased enough which will suggest that he will be the answer for the incoming boss Erik ten Hag.
So, the Frenchman could resolve their right-back issues if the Red Devils’ hierarchy manage to get this deal over the line. The record Premier League champions need to strengthen different areas of their squad, so they need to find talented players at a reasonable price.
Therefore, Nordi Mukiele will be a good choice for Manchester United, considering the aforementioned fee. And he could flourish under Erik ten Hag’s tutelage at the Old Trafford stadium.
