Manchester United are reportedly showing interest in Ajax Amsterdam winger Antony as per the report in Brazilian outlet Uol Sports.
The 22-year-old joined the Eredivisie giants back in 2020 from the Brazilian side Sao Paulo. The youngster has enjoyed a productive campaign this term, scoring 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.
According to the report, Antony is exploring the possibility of finding his future away from the Johan Cruyff Arena and moving to the Premier League. The report further claims that Manchester United and Liverpool are weighing up a move for the Ajax star, while Newcastle United are also in the race.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are leading the race for the highly-rated forward having appointed Erik ten Hag as their new manager. The duo has enjoyed great success in the recently concluded season in the Netherlands capital where they won the league title.
Signing Antony will be a very good acquisition for Manchester United. The Red Devils are struggling with their right-wing position for quite a while now and the Brazilian winger can resolve the problem for many more years to come.
With Edinson Cavani looking likely to leave the club, while the futures of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are still hanging in the air, strengthening the forward line will be a shrewd decision by the club’s hierarchy.
Manchester United’s incoming boss Erik ten Hag is looking to bring a couple of players from Ajax. Jurrien Timber is one of the players who are on the Dutchman’s wishlist, while Antony is also linked with a move to the Old Trafford stadium.
So, it will be interesting to see whoever among them will end up at Manchester United. The Red Devils need to address multiple issues in the squad this summer and they need to act quickly in order to address all the issues in this transfer window.
