Manchester United have reportedly made a huge offer for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as per the report in Italian outlet La Republica

The 23-years-old joined the Serie A giants back in 2020 from Ligue 1 outfit LOSC Lille. The Red Devils were linked with a move for the Nigerian forward at that time, however, ended up signing Edinson Cavani.

The youngster has showcased his talent since joining the Azzurri and is enjoying a stellar campaign this term, scoring 16 goals and notching up a solitary assist in 28 appearances in all competitions.

According to the report, Manchester United have made a whopping bid of more than €100 million for Osimhen and the Red Devils are currently leading the race for the highly-rated forward who is increasingly likely to leave the club at the end of this season.

Our View:

Signing Victor Osimhen will be a great acquisition for Manchester United. With Edinson Cavani expected to leave the club at the end of this season and Cristiano Ronaldo might also leave if the Red Devils fail to secure a place in the Champions League which is highly likely, signing a new forward will be a shrewd decision by the club’s hierarchy.

However, it will be extremely difficult to price the Napoli star away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The Red Devils previously made an attempt to sign Kalidou Koulibaly but failed to meet the Azzurri’s asking price. And they might face a similar situation this time around as well.

So, it will be interesting to see whether United will be able to succeed this time around or not in purchasing the Napoli star. Osimhen is quick, strong and brilliant in the air, so he has every attribute to become a world-class forward in years to come.

However, it is not clear whether he would want to join the Old Trafford stadium, given the record Premier League champions will not be able to offer him Champions League football next season.
