Manchester United players unfollowed Mason Greenwood on social media

Following the disclosure of Mason Greenwood’s unforgivable incident, Manchester United players have started to unfollow the 20-year-old on social media. 

The young man has been arrested with the accusation of rape and assault after the Englishman’s girlfriend released photos, videos and audio clips, alleged the Red Devils player was responsible for her situation. 

The Old Trafford club released a statement that said

“We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media. We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

Later the club made yet another statement and disclosed that the England International will not take any part in training and also won’t play any games for the Red Devils until the end of the investigation.

Greater Manchester United police have also made a public statement and confirmed that they have arrested the young man. The police said:

“Greater Manchester Police was made aware earlier today (Sunday 30 January) of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence. An investigation was launched and following enquiries, we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing.” 

Meanwhile, following this incident, Manchester United players have started to unfollow Mason Greenwood on social media, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and David De Gea are the players who have done that. 

What is the future of Mason Greenwood? 

Mason Greenwood was deemed to be one of the best young talents who came through the ranks of Manchester United academy. However, following this incident, the Red Devils fans have expressed their verdict and stated that they do not want to see the forward playing for their beloved club. So, The 20-year-old’s football career seemingly could come to an end prematurely, if those allegations prove to be correct.
