Manchester United are reportedly set to cash in on Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe as per the report in the English outlet Daily Mail

The newly appointed boss Erik ten Hag is looking to rejuvenate the United side that performed awfully under the former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer initially and then under the interim boss Ralf Rangnick last season.

Meanwhile, The Red Devils have signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martínez so far this summer. While Ten Hag’s side have been in contact with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong for almost two months.

But, despite the Catalan giants having agreed on a fee of around €85 million, including bonuses, to sell the midfielder, the player has expressed his desire to stay put at Camp Nou beyond this summer which is stalling this deal from being done.

On the other hand, Manchester United have sold Andreas Pereira after Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have all left the club for free.

A report in Daily Mail is now claiming that the Red Devils are expected to offload Bailly, Jones and Tuanzebe as well this summer, given they are not in Ten Hag’s plan.

The report further claims that Phil Jones has attracted attention from DC United who just appointed Wayne Rooney as their new manager.

Our View:

Manchester United are stacked in their defensive department and following the arrival of Lisandro Martínez, they currently have seven senior centre-backs.

So, it is expected that a few of them will be sold this summer. Phil Jones hasn’t travelled with the United squad on the tour, while reports suggest that Tuanzebe’s tour was cut short due to personal issues. But, Eric Bailly has featured in both games in the preseason.

So, it will be interesting to see whether Manchester United will be able to cash in on all of the players who are not in Ten Hag’s plan. It was expected that the Red Devils will be looking for a squad overhaul this summer.

However, they are relatively quiet in terms of offloading players. Meanwhile, although the club’s hierarchy have signed three players, they still need reinforcements, especially in midfield and with less than three weeks remaining from starting the new season, they haven’t managed to strengthen their engine room yet.
