Manchester United will reportedly demand around £60 million for their star forward Marcus Rashford if the Englishman decides to leave the club at the end of this season as per the report in 90min.
The 24-years-old has endured a disappointing campaign this term, scoring four goals and notching up two assists in 25 Premier League games. Meanwhile, the first team appearance has dried up for the highly-rated forward in recent weeks due to his poor display.
Rashford still has one year remaining in his current contract with an option to extend the deal for one more year. However, the Englishman earlier expressed his desire to leave the club.
Following the appointment of Erik ten Hag, the 24-years-old will reportedly make his decision about the future after consulting with the Dutchman.
Meanwhile, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain previously expressed their interest in Rashford, while Arsenal and Newcastle United have also entered the fray in recent weeks.
Marcus Rashford has struggled to showcase his best for Manchester United since sustaining a back injury in the 2019/2020 season. Meanwhile, his performance this season has been a point of concern for the record Premier League champions.
The 24-years-old’s work-rate has infuriated the Old Trafford faithful and his attitude has also been very poor. The Red Devils displayed a much-improved performance against Brentford in the previous game where they won by 3-0.
This was the highest margin of victory for Manchester United under Ralf Rangnick. So, the German boss’ decision to select the first eleven without Rashford was justified despite Jadon Sancho’s absence due to illness.
It will be interesting to see what Erik ten Hag will decide about the Englishman’s future. The 52-year-old boss demands high intensity from their forward players, but if the 24-years-old continues to showcase lacklustre performance under the Dutchman, then the forward will be shown the exit door sooner rather than later.
