Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly willing to commit his long-term future at Old Trafford and showcase his best under Erik ten Hag as per the report in English outlet The Telegraph

The 24-year-old has endured a difficult season this term, scoring five goals and notching up two assists in 32 appearances in all competitions. The forward was struggling to break into the interim boss Ralf Rangnick’s first eleven in the last couple of months.

Meanwhile, the Englishman expressed his desire to leave the club back in January. However, he has taken a U-turn since and is willing to stay at the Old Trafford stadium

According to the report, Rashford is reportedly ready to start intense warm-weather training in the USA during this off-season break in order to return to the preseason in a better shape. Having missed the pre-season last term due to injury, the forward looked unfit throughout the campaign.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich were monitoring the 24-years-old’s situation closely, given they are eyeing a forward following the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has expressed his desire to take on a new challenge in his career. Arsenal were another club who were mentioned as a potential suitor, given they are also looking to strengthen their forward line.

Our View:

Marcus Rashford showcased his best during the early stages of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era. However, after sustaining a back injury, the forward hasn’t been able to replicate the same performance since.

The forward’s attitude looked appalling and he seemed uninterested whenever he was given opportunities under Ralf Rangnick. The Old Trafford faithful have expressed their frustration over the striker’s performance this season.

However, it is not clear yet what the 24-years-old’s future lies under Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has already started; he hasn’t talked with the players yet.

Due to a frustrating display this season, many Manchester United players haven’t been called for international duty. This will give Erik ten Hag longer time to work on his system during the pre-season.
