Manchester United have reportedly made a huge €60 million bid for FC Porto forward Evanilson as per the report in multiple Portuguese outlets(via the Peoples Person).

The 22-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign with the Liga Portugal champions the last term, scoring 14 goals and notching up four assists in 30 league appearances.

According to the report, Manchester United have made a €60 million offer, including bonuses to sign Evanilson this summer. However, Porto have rejected the offer and are asking for a fee of around €100 million for their star forward.

The report further claims that the Dragons could lower their asking price and might accept a fee of around €70 million.

Our View:

This is one of the classic cases of involving Manchester United’s name in a deal to find the best possible offer for Evanilson. This has already been done by the Portuguese media several times this summer and it has become a usual ploy from clubs and agents around the globe in recent years.

So, although the report claims the Red Devils have made an offer for the 22-year-old forward, there could be very little truth behind this story.

Reliable outlets are claiming that Erik ten Hag wants to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, while Christian Eriksen has also been mentioned as a potential target for the Dutch boss to strengthen his midfield department.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how Manchester United’s new transfer team will work this summer. Fans have already lost their patience due to the lack of activity so far this transfer window and it will be essential to provide all the necessary tools to the new manager in order to achieve the objectives for next season.
