After recovering from the Covid-19 outbreak in the squad, Manchester United will finally return to action on Monday night against Newcastle United.

Since defeating Norwich City by 1-0, the Red Devils’ following two games against Brentford and Brighton were called off due to the covid outbreak and after 16 days the Old Trafford faithful will finally get to see their beloved club in action.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are currently sitting sixth in the table with 27 points in 16 games, five points behind the fourth-placed Arsenal who have played two extra games. On the other hand, Newcastle are at the bottom alongside Norwich City with 10 points in 18 games.

Manchester United predicted line-up against Newcastle United:

The Red Devils boss has already stated in his pre-match press conference that every single player is fit to be involved in this encounter apart from Paul Pogba. So, it will be interesting to see if he makes some changes in his starting eleven or not. However, given what we have experienced so far, the German does not like to change his winning combination.

Therefore, David De Gea will keep his place between the sticks after displaying an astonishing performance against the Canaries in the last game at Carrow Road.

Harry Maguire should keep his place alongside Victor Lindelof. The 63-year-old has earlier said that he wants to give Raphael Varane time to get back to full fitness and given the Frenchman has been out for over a month, it might be too early for the World Cup winner to start on Monday night.

Meanwhile, after displaying promising performances in the last few games, Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles are looking likely to keep their places in the fullback positions.

Fred and Scott McTominay will be deployed at the midfield pivot role. Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho should be the two attacking midfielders in Rangnick’s preferred 4-2-2-2 system.

It will be interesting to see who will partner Cristiano Ronaldo in the centre forward role. Marcus Rashford is the most likely option but given Edinson Cavani is fit to play, he could start ahead of the Englishman.

Manchester United predicted line-up against Newcastle United(4-2-2-2):

David De Gea; Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles; Fred, Scott McTominay; Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho; Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford
