Following a lacklustre defeat against Manchester City last week, Manchester United will entertain Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.

After showing some fighting spirit in the first half an hour, Ralf Rangnick’s side downed tools in the second half and in the end, suffered a 4-1 defeat against the league leader.

Following this result, the Red Devils have slipped down to the fifth position, one point behind the fourth-placed Arsenal having played three extra games.

Manchester United team news against Tottenham Hotspur:

After testing positive for Coronavirus, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw were pulled out of the game at the last moment last week. However, while the Frenchman has returned to the first-team training, the fullback is in doubt ahead of this crucial fixture.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also among the noticeable absentees against Manchester City due to a hip injury and he is in doubt this weekend. Edinson Cavani has returned to the training after recovering from a groin issue and he could be named in the matchday squad in this encounter.

Predicted Line-up:

David De Gea will continue in goal against the top-four rival this weekend. Raphael Varane might return to the starting eleven and Victor Lindelof should start alongside the Frenchman. Harry Maguire keeps on delivering disappointing displays this term and he should be dropped in this crucial game.

Diogo Dalot could be named in the starting eleven ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles will start on the opposite side.

Scott McTominay will commence alongside Fred in the midfield pivot role, while Paul Pogba should be in the advanced midfielder position.

Jadon Sancho will keep his place on the wings and Anthony Elanga could be on the opposite flank. Bruno Fernandes might start on the false nine position if neither Edinson Cavani nor Cristiano Ronaldo managed to start the game.
