Manchester United are reportedly showing interest in Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby as per the report in German outlet Sport1

The 22-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants back in 2019 from PSG for around £13 million. The Frenchman is enjoying a stellar campaign this season, scoring 16 goals and notching up nine assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.

According to the report, Manchester United are keen on signing Diaby in the summer. The youngster currently has a contract until 2025 with the Eternal Bridesmaids. There isn’t any release clause included in his current contract and the German club have slapped a €60 million(£50.2m) price tag on their star man.

The report further claims that Manchester United will have to surpass the challenges of fellow Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Newcastle in order to secure a deal for the highly-rated forward.

Our View:

Moussa Diaby could be an excellent acquisition for Manchester United. Following the suspension of Mason Greenwood, the Red Devils are currently without any specialist right winger in their squad. Therefore, signing the 22-year-old will be a shrewd decision by the club’s hierarchy.

United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick – who will become the consultant of the club – previously stated that he likes to sign younger players and therefore, Diaby will be an apt addition to the Red Devils squad.

The youngster is quick, can score goals and is also efficient in creating chances for the fellow attackers. Jadon Sancho on the one side and Diaby on the opposite flank will be an extremely creative winger duo for the Red Devils and it will benefit Cristiano Ronaldo next season if the club’s hierarchy manage to finalize the deal.

Manchester United have suffered a huge blow on Tuesday night after being knocked out of the Champions League. The Red Devils will have to find consistency after the international break in order to finish in the top four spot in the Premier League and finish the season with some positivity.
