Lazio ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is eager to join Manchester United amid links with PSG and the Red Devils.
The 27-year-old is enjoying a stellar campaign this term, scoring 10 goals and registering 11 assists in 34 Serie A appearances. The Serbian international is always linked with a move to the Old Trafford outfit and once again he is linked with a move to the record Premier League champions.
The midfielder’s agent, Mateja Kezman, has revealed that he is currently in negotiations with PSG and Manchester United about a potential summer move of Milinkovic-Savic. The agent also expressed that his client will prefer a move to the Old Trafford stadium. He said on Foot01:
“Sergej has no shortage of offers for the summer transfer window. At the moment we are dealing with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. He is focused on the end of the season with Lazio, but Sergej wants to go to Manchester.”
Manchester United are looking for a squad overhaul under the new boss Erik ten Hag and signing two midfielders are reportedly on the agenda of the club’s hierarchy. They are eyeing a defensive midfielder as well as a more advanced midfielder this summer.
The 27-year-old could be an option for the advanced midfielder role. However, the Red Devils will have to break their bank in order to sign the Serbia international. Recent reports are suggesting that Lazio will ask around €100 million(£83.7m) for their star man.
It will not be a shrewd decision to spend a big chunk of their transfer budget on one player, given the Red Devils will have to address multiple issues in their squad this summer.
Meanwhile, having endured a difficult campaign this term, Manchester United will be looking to end their season on a higher note. The hopes of finishing in the top four spot have evaporated in recent weeks and the Red Devils will have to end the season well in order to qualify for the Europa League next season.
