Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly willing to sign a contract extension with the club if only he becomes the highest-paid player in the Premier League as per the report in French outlet L’Equipe

Fellow teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the highest-paid player in the league with an almost £500,000 wage per week. The Frenchman is currently earning £290,000 per week and has reportedly asked for almost a 100% salary hike in order to prolong his stay at the Old Trafford stadium.

Paul Pogba is reportedly willing to leave the club due to the Red Devils’ recent downfall and will only commit his future at Manchester United if he will become the highest-paid player in the league as per the report.

However, the world-cup winner’s lofty desire has dealt with a major blow as he has suffered a thigh injury in training with the national squad and reportedly will have to remain sidelined for two months.

Meanwhile, the Frenchman’s current contract with the club will expire at the end of this season and the midfielder can sign a pre-contract with the foreign club in January.

Will Manchester United break the bank to keep Paul Pogba?

Paul Pogba hasn’t been able to showcase consistent performances since joining for a club-record transfer fee back in 2016. The Red Devils’ struggle during this period didn’t help the Frenchman either.

Jose Mourinho brought the 28-year-old at the club and could not find a perfect position for the midfielder in his system and the current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also failed to bring the best out of the France international.

So, parting ways might be the best outcome for both parties at the end of this season. However, allowing the Frenchman to leave for free could be a huge financial blow for the Red Devils hierarchy. Therefore, cashing in on the midfielder in January might be a good decision from Manchester United.

Meanwhile, following a bad run of results in the last few games, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job is on a knife-edge. The fans are calling for a managerial change but the club hierarchy are still willing to keep faith in the Norwegian boss. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the current Red Devils boss.

  1. Well Pogba hasn’t been playing anywhere near what he plays for France. and as for him wanting over £500K a week I would rather UTD just tell him to go,,, if not in January at the end of the season, But just leave him out off the squad as he’s just a really lazy person and his agent it just one very greedy greedy man and nobody deserves to get the amount of Money that he gets there should be a limited on how much Money a agent gets as well as how many places that he can have he’s just a Joke,
