‘Pogba and Sancho out’ – Manchester United possible line-up against Liverpool and prediction

Manchester United will welcome arch-rival Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, following a poor couple of results in domestic competitions.

The recent head-to-head results are not promising either for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as they haven’t been able to beat the Reds in the last six encounters in the Premier League and in three of those matches United ended up on the losing side.

In terms of head-to-head between both managers, they have faced six times and only once Solskjaer got the better of Jurgen Klopp in an F.A Cup tie last term. The German boss won twice against the Norwegian and the rest ended in stalemates.

Manchester United vs Liverpool: Predicted Line-up

The only man who is showing consistency so far this season for Manchester United is the goalkeeper David De Gea and he will be between the sticks for the Old Trafford outfit.

The defensive pairing should be Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof after the injury to Raphael Varane. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw will choose themselves to start at the full-back positions.

Despite doubts surrounding Fred after picking up a knock against Atalanta midweek, it seems most likely that he will start in the midfield pivot role alongside Scott McTominay.

Marcus Rashford sustained a dead leg against the Italian side but should be ready to feature in this game from the start. Bruno Fernandes is also doubtful ahead of this crucial encounter as reports are claiming that he limped off during training season. However, it is highly likely that he will be involved in this game from the beginning.

Mason Greenwood might start in the right-wing position ahead of new signing Jadon Sancho who hasn’t had a great time in English football since making the move from Borussia Dortmund.

Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line for Manchester United against Liverpool and it will be interesting to see who will have the last laugh on Sunday.

Manchester United possible starting lineup(4-2-3-1):

De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo
