Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly ready to take a pay cut in order to rejoin his former club Juventus as per the report in the Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, assisting seven times in the first four Premier League appearances. However, the Frenchman has faded away since and hasn’t been able to register a single goal contribution in his last nine games in all competitions.
According to the report in La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Pogba is willing to take a wage cut to return to Juventus if only the Bianconeri can manage to secure Champions League football next season.
The report further claims that the Frenchman is still in contact with his former teammates, especially Paulo Dybala which has created the speculation of his return to the Old Lady of Turin. The player’s agent Mino Riola has also said earlier that the Allianz Stadium is his preferred destination to land Pogba.
The Serie A giants are looking to offer a three-year contract to the 28-year-old with a significant wage cut than the midfielder is currently earning at the Old Trafford Stadium.
Will Pogba leave Manchester United to join Juventus for free?
The future of Paul Pogba has been a point of concern for Manchester United over the past few campaigns. The Frenchman isn’t keen on committing his future at the Old Trafford stadium as the Red Devils haven’t shown any signs of becoming a title contender anytime soon.
So, the France international is reportedly weighing up a move away from the Red Devils at the end of this season in order to find a destination where he can win major trophies at this stage of his career.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have looked way behind compared to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City so far this season where the Red Devils were touted to be the contenders for the Premier League title this season after a great summer transfer window where they bought Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite displaying poor performance so far this season, the Red Devils hierarchy are looking to persist with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the time being. Therefore, this raises the question mark about the ambition of this club and what are their plans to bring the glory days back at the Old Trafford stadium?
