The 24-years-old has been enduring a difficult season at Old Trafford since returning from a shoulder injury, scoring five goals and notching up a solitary assist in 17 appearances in all competitions. The Red Devils’ interim manager Ralf Rangnick has started Anthony Elanga in recent games ahead of the Englishman due to poor performances.
According to the report, PSG contacted Marcus Rashford last summer with an eye for a potential replacement of Kylian Mbappe and the England International was reportedly excited by the proposition of joining the Ligue 1 outfit at the start of this campaign.
Hawkins also claimed that the link between the two parties remains constant with the hope of making this deal happen if Mbappe decides to leave the club who is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Although Marcus Rashford is having to go through a difficult spell this season, there is no doubt about the 24-years-old’s talent. The forward’s development has stalled in recent seasons after having to endure a few lengthy injury setbacks over the past few campaigns.
However, the Red Devils hierarchy should not be entertained by any offers from the Ligue 1 giants. Rashford was born and bred in Manchester and also ranked through the academy of the club. Therefore, he might not want to leave his dream destination. So, it is hard to imagine that the 24-years-old will opt to join PSG by leaving the Old Trafford club.
Meanwhile, having struggled to showcase his best this season, Rashford has taken this international break as the opportunity to work on his fitness and regain his spot in Rangnick’s starting line-up. The United man has recently posted a video where it showed that the Englishman is currently in Dubai and doing warm-weather training.
The Old Trafford faithful will be hoping that the academy graduate will find his form as quickly as possible in order to help the club in the race for the top-four finish. Meanwhile, the Red Devils will encounter Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 stage next month and a fully confident Marcus Rashford will increase Manchester United’s chance of going through to the next round.
