Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has reportedly expressed his desire to bring Brandon Williams back in the summer as per the report in English outlet Metro

The Red Devils academy graduate made his senior debut back in 2019, making 50 appearances in all competitions during this period before joining Norwich City on loan at the start of this season.

According to the report, Rangnick met with the 21-year-old when Manchester United travelled to Carrow Road in December. The German boss is aware of the youngster’s ability and the 63-year-old told the fullback that he is delighted with Williams’ development this season.

The report further claimed that the former Leipzig boss is willing to bring the Englishman back to the theatre of dreams and wants the youngster to give chance to showcase his talent.

Our View:

Although Rangnick is keen on bringing Brandon Williams back in the summer, the final decision will be made by the next permanent manager. The Red Devils hierarchy have reportedly shortlisted Erik Ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino for the managerial role and it will be interesting to see who will succeed the German boss.

Meanwhile, the 63-year-old has been deploying Diogo Dalot in the right full-back position since arriving at the theatre of dreams. However, despite showcasing a much-improved performance defensively, the Portuguese hasn’t been good enough going forward. So, giving Brendon Williams another chance could be a shrewd decision.

The youngster can play either side of the fullback position and his versatility will be an asset for the United boss. However, the 21-year-old hasn’t been able to showcase his talent going forward either at Carrow Road this season, notching up a solitary assist in 18 Premier League appearances.

Therefore, Manchester United might need to find a new fullback in the upcoming transfer window if the new manager is not impressed by what the Red Devils have at the moment at their disposal.
