Following a comfortable 3-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur on weekend, Manchester United will have to shift their focus to the Champions League as they will be travelling to Italy’s Bergamo to encounter Atalanta on Tuesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side easily swept away the north London club courtesy of the goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford. After coming close to being sacked, this victory will certainly give a few more chances to the Norwegian manager to save his job.

In terms of the team news provided by the club’s website, Manchester United will have a full squad to choose from apart from Victor Lindelof who suffered a knock during training and did not travel with the squad.

Meanwhile, David De Gea will continue between the sticks for Solskjaer’s side as his recent performances have made him the first name on the scoresheet. In front of the Spaniard, Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire will start the game and Luke Shaw might be the third centre-back for the Red Devils.

After producing a very good performance against Spurs, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will start in the right-wing back position and Alex Telles might get the chance on his preferred left-wing back position.

Solskjaer will continue with his preferred midfield pairings Fred and Scott McTominay for this game. However, despite picking up a domestic suspension, Paul Pogba is available for this game in the Champions League and it will be interesting to see if the Norwegian boss will fancy the Frenchman for this encounter or not.

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes will continue in the attacking midfield position. After playing on the weekend, it will be tough for Cavani to play again in midweek with the Manchester derby on the horizon. So, Solskjaer might go with Rashford for this encounter alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United predicted line-up against Atalanta(3-4-1-2):

De Gea; Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Fred, Telles; Fernandes; Ronaldo, Rashford

Atalanta 1-3 Manchester United

With the back three system, Manchester United looked solid in defence and threatening in counter-attacks. So, it will be a perfect game for Solskjaer to implement a counter-attacking system as Atalanta likes to play open and expansive football.
