Manchester United will be travelling to the capital to encounter Brentford on Wednesday night in the Premier League

Despite leading by 2-0 until 75 minutes of the game, Ralf Rangnick’s side only managed to come away with one point against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Following this result, the Red Devils are currently sitting in seventh in the table with 32 points in 20 games, five points behind West Ham United from fourth who has played two extra games.

Manchester United team news against Brentford:

According to the club’s website, having picked up the fifth yellow card of this Premier League campaign against Wolverhampton, Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw were suspended on Sunday’s game against Villa and they will return to action in midweek. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford were not in the matchday squad at weekend due to a hip injury and dead leg respectively, but they could be fit enough to feature in this encounter.

Harry Maguire started on the bench in the last game and might start against Thomas Frank’s team. Aaron Wan-Bissaka wasn’t in the squad on Sunday and will be interesting to see if he will return or not in this fixture. Eric Bailly will be unavailable due to his commitment with his national team in the Africa Cup of Nations and Paul Pogba will also remain sidelined for a long term injury.

Predicted Line-up:

David De Gea displayed another astonishing performance against Steven Gerrard’s side on Sunday and will start between the sticks in midweek.

Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane performed well at Villa Park until the 75 minutes but failed to keep the clean sheet and earn all three points. Therefore, Harry Maguire might return at the heart of defence in place of the Swedish.

Diogo Dalot could keep his place in the right-back slot ahead of Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles should continue on the other side after an impressive performance in the last game.

Scott McTominay will return to the starting eleven after serving his suspension and Fred might start alongside the Scotsman in the midfield pivot role. Bruno Fernandes will continue in the attacking midfield position.

Anthony Elanga displayed a promising performance against Aston Villa and should start ahead of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. Mason Greenwood will start on the other flank and Cristiano Ronaldo might lead the line for the Red Devils.

Manchester United predicted line-up against Brentford(4-3-3):

David De Gea; Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles; Scott McTominay, Fred, Bruno Fernandes; Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo
