Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly expressed his desire with his close surroundings that he is willing to leave Manchester United at the end of this season as per the report in English outlet The Sun

The Portuguese superstar re-joined his old club after leaving Juventus last summer. He signed a two-year contract with an option to extend the deal for one more year. The forward was initially linked with a move to the city rival Manchester City but in the end, joined the Old Trafford stadium.

As per the report, the 37-year-old is feeling his age due to the high-intensity nature of the Premier League. The report further claimed that the forward might be willing to cut short his stay at the Old Trafford stadium if the Red Devils fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Ronaldo has understood that he needs to work harder off the ball in order to play in the Premier League and be able to start every game under Ralf Rangnick. So, the Portuguese has installed an oxygen chamber at his home to recover quickly.

Our View:

Despite Manchester United having to endure a disappointing season this term, Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea have been the best performers for the 13 times Premier League champions. The Portuguese almost single-handedly carried the Old Trafford outfit to the Champions League knock-out stage, scoring six goals in five appearances.

However, with the 37-year-old approaching the final few years of his illustrious career, it is justified that he is eyeing to leave the theatre of dreams if they fail to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.

The Red Devils are currently one point behind the fourth-placed West Ham United with a game in hand. But, their recent performances haven’t been convincing enough to suggest that they will be able to secure the top four spot.

So, Ralf Rangnick will need to find a quick solution sooner rather than later. Following the Southampton game on Saturday, Manchester United will have to encounter Brighton and Leeds before facing off Atletico Madrid next week in the Champions League.
