Manchester United legend Roy Keane was highly impressed by the performance of England star Jude Bellingham in the victory against Ivory Coast.

The 18-year-old was handed his 10th cap for his national side where the Three Lions came away victorious by 3-0. The youngster played his part in this victory and was active on both ends of the pitch.

The youngster joined Borussia Dortmund back in 2020 from Championship side Birmingham City. The Red Devils were also linked with a move for the highly-rated midfielder but failed to secure a deal.

However, despite losing the midfielder on the first occasion, the Red Devils are still showing interest in the Dortmund ace and a move to the Old Trafford stadium in future can’t be ruled out.

Meanwhile, speaking on ITV’s highlights coverage(via United in Focus), Keane expressed his admiration for Bellingham and said that the youngster’s maturity has impressed him the most and the 18-year-old has the potential to become an integral part of England’s system for years to come. The former midfielder said:

“I’m confused every time I listen to interviews! People say he’s a six or an eight or a ten – just get on with the game! Play what’s in front of you. Whatever role you’re asked to play, he can do it. Don’t label him as a certain position. He can play a lot of different positions like a lot of good young players.

“The key for him is he is playing week in, week out for a top club in Germany. Every time he plays for England, he looks so comfortable. He played tonight like he’s played 50, 60 times for England. He’s so mature, he’s got everything in his locker. Can’t speak highly enough of him. He’s an amazing talent. He’s going to be a mainstay for England for the next 10-15 years.”

Our View:

Jude Bellingham has already showcased his talent in Bundesliga by establishing himself as a key member of the Borussia Dortmund squad. The youngster is quick, strong, dynamic, good with the ball and also has leadership qualities.

So, the Englishman has every attribute to become a world-class midfielder in future and acquiring the youngster’s service will be a shrewd decision by the Red Devils’ hierarchy.

Manchester United have struggled with their midfield issues over the past few campaigns and the England International could a perfect option to solve their midfield problems, given the 18-year-old can play anywhere across the middle of the park.

The Red Devils are eyeing a squad overhaul in the summer and the club’s hierarchy are looking to invest in their midfield. So, Jude Bellingham could be one of the names on the wishlist for Manchester United.
