Soccer News: Barcelona are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Manchester United striker Anthony Martial in a swap deal involving Ousmane Dembele as per the report in Catalan outlet Ara

The Frenchman has already expressed his desire to leave the club due to the lack of game time at the Old Trafford outfit. United boss Ralf Rangnick has omitted the 26-year-old from the matchday squad in the last game against Burnley and it is looking likely that the forward has already played his last game for the Red Devils.

According to the report, Barcelona are keen on offloading their star Ousmane Dembele in the January transfer window after failing to reach an agreement with the Frenchman to extend his contract as the winger’s current contract will expire at the end of this season.

The report further claims that the Blaugrana are looking to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in a swap deal involving Ousmane Dembele as they are not willing to let go of one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history for free.

Soccer News: Will Ousmane Dembele be a good addition to Manchester United?

Soccer News: Cashing in on Anthony Martial will be a very good decision from Manchester United. The forward hasn’t been able to showcase his talent consistently enough at the Old Trafford stadium and therefore, allowing the player’s departure should be the right decision from the Red Devils hierarchy.

However, agreeing on a deal involving Dembele would not be a shrewd business from the Old Trafford outfit. The Frenchman has already shown that he is extremely injury prone and investing a lot of money on a player who could struggle with his fitness issues, might not be the perfect way to go for Ralf Rangnick.

Therefore, selling Martial will be better for the Red Devils. The 63-year-old manager is keen on signing a defensive midfielder in the upcoming transfer window and generating cash from the Frenchman’s sale will help the German boss to bring his first-choice midfielder into the squad.

So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Anthony Martial. Letting the 26-year-old leave will be the right decision for both parties but it will be tough to find a right suitor for the Frenchman who will match the player’s demands as well as pay the transfer fee that the Red Devils would want.
