Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag is reportedly closing in on a deal to join Manchester United at the end of this season as per the report in 90min

Reports emerged last week that Manchester United have identified that the Dutchman will be the right appointment for the club’s long-term future, while the 52-year-old is also keen on joining the Old Trafford outfit.

Meanwhile, a few details are still to be resolved between these two parties before finishing a deal. And as per the report, Ajax are insisting on Ten Hag and Manchester United to finalize a deal before the Eredivisie giants’ next game against PSV Eindhoven in the domestic cup final.

The report further claims that Manchester United were looking to secure a deal for Erik Ten Hag before Easter and their plans remain the same in this current situation.

Our View:

Securing Erik Ten Hag as soon as possible will be the right decision by Manchester United. Following the new boss’ appointment, the Red Devils will have to start planning their transfer business for next season.

Meanwhile, the new season will start early next term due to the winter World Cup and therefore, the new manager will have less time for the next campaign’s preparation.

On top of that, if Erik Ten Hag was to become the next Manchester United manager, then he will have to sort out the future of the stars who are currently on loan or struggling to find regular first-team action.

So, the Dutchman will have a daunting task ahead if he joins the record Premier League champions. Meanwhile, with the Red Devils looking likely to miss out on the opportunity to finish in the top four spot, it will impact on their transfer budget in the summer.
