Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly showing interest in listening to offers from Manchester United in order to succeed Ralf Rangnick as per the report in English outlet The Athletic

Following the sanction imposed by the UK government on the defending European Champions, the future of the club is hanging in the air and the players and managers are unsure about their future at the moment.

Therefore, the Red Devils’ hierarchy are looking to take advantage of their rivals’ situation and are trying to persuade the German boss to take charge at Old Trafford.

According to the report, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Tuchel’s current situation with the world champions amidst the Blues’ uncertain future.

The report further claims that the German boss is interested in becoming the Red Devils’ next manager and he will listen to offers from the record Premier League champions.

Our View:

Securing Thomas Tuchel as the next permanent manager will be a great acquisition for Manchester United. The German boss has already showcased his managerial prowess with Chelsea by winning the Champions League and the Club World Cup and the Old Trafford faithful will be hoping that the former Borussia Dortmund boss will be able to replicate the same performance if the Red Devils hierarchy manage to get this deal over the line.

Manchester United are active in the market in search of a new permanent manager and Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Hag have been mentioned as the leading candidates to succeed Ralf Rangnick. However, after the current uncertainty in Chelsea camp, Thomas Tuchel could be available in the summer.

The German boss will be happy to work with his former mentor Ralf Rangnick as the 63-year-old will take over the consultancy role at the end of this season. So, the German duo could be the perfect appointment in order to match the lofty ambitions of the club.

Following their elimination from the Champions League, Manchester United have now only nine games remaining in the Premier League this season. They are currently one point behind the fourth-placed Arsenal who have two games in hand. So, it will be a daunting task to secure a place in the Champions League next season.
