Transfer news: Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has reportedly told Dean Henderson that he wants the Englishman to stay at the club until the end of this season as per the report in English outlet Manchester Evening News.
The 24-years-old signed a long-term contract with the Red Devils last summer with the hope of becoming the first choice keeper at the Old Trafford stadium. However, after David De Gea’s heroic display in this season, the Englishman has found it difficult to break into the starting line-up. And the former Sheffield United loanee has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club in January.
According to the report, Rangnick wants to keep three first-choice keepers in his squad and therefore, has blocked the Englishman’s departure in this upcoming winter transfer window. The report further claims that this decision could cause a huge problem between the manager and the player as Henderson is desperate to move away from Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are willing to make a move for the 24-years-old in the summer as the North London club are eyeing a replacement for the veteran Hugo Lloris whose current contract will expire at the end of this season.
Transfer news: What will be the future of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson?
Transfer news: Following a disappointing couple of seasons from David De Gea, Manchester United decided to offer a long-term contract to Dean Henderson to make a competition for the first team places. But, since then the Spaniard has found his form in this campaign and the Englishman has fallen down in the pecking order.
Therefore, cashing in on the 24-years-old could be a shrewd decision from the Red Devils. Ralf Rangnick wants to address the midfield issue in the January transfer window and generating some transfer fees from the players’ sales will help the German boss to sign his first choice player.
Apart from the Englishman, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Donny Van De Beek have also expressed their desire to leave the club due to the lack of game time. So, this could be a busy transfer window for the Red Devils hierarchy.
Meanwhile, with Paul Pogba looking likely to leave the club, Donny Van De Beek is not happy with his role at the squad and the first choice midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay are struggling to produce their best. The 63-year-old boss will have to address a lot of issues in a very short period.
