Transfer news of today: Man United are reportedly eyeing a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams as per the report in the English outlet Daily Star

The 22-year-old joined the Bundesliga club, RB Leipzig, back in 2019 from New York Red Bulls. Since then, the midfielder has made quite a few appearances for Die Roten Bullen but hasn’t been able to solidify his name on the starting line-up. He has been involved in 61 games in the Bundesliga over the past four campaigns, scoring a solitary goal and assisting three times.

According to the report, Manchester United might consider a move for US international Tyler Adams as the Red Devils’ interim manager Ralf Rangnick has previously worked with the youngster during his time at Leipzig and has compared the midfielder with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.

The report further claims that the 22-year-old is named among the most valuable u-23 players by the CIES Football Observatory and a move for the US national team’s captain would make a lot of sense for Manchester United in terms of the commercial aspect.

Transfer news of today: Will Tyler Adams be a good fit for Man United?

Transfer news of today: Signing Tyler Adams could be a very good acquisition for Man United. The midfielder has already played under Ralf Rangnick at RB Leipzig and therefore, the midfielder will consume less time to settle down at the Old Trafford stadium.

The 22-year-old is a versatile player who can play anywhere across the midfield as well as in the right-back position. He was deployed on the right wing-back position for the majority of the season last term by the former Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann. So, the versatile midfielder will be a great asset to have for any manager.

Manchester United currently have Fred and Scott McTominay who can play in the midfield pivot role. With Paul Pogba and Donny Van De Beek’s future still hanging in the air and it is not clear yet if Nemanja Matic will be the right option for Rangnick’s high pressing system or not, it is an absolute necessity to sign a new midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.

Meanwhile, after winning the first game under Ralf Rangnick against Crystal Palace, Manchester United will host Young Boys at the Old Trafford stadium in the Champions League. The German boss will make some changes in this encounter in order to weigh up his other options. So, the fringe players will have to take this opportunity and impress the new manager.
