Aston Villa and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United ace Paul Pogba as per the report in English outlet Daily Mail

The Frenchman is currently on international duty with his national squad and he made some bold statements in the press this week. The 29-year-old is unhappy at Old Trafford since joining the club for a record fee. The midfielder further stated that he wants to win trophies and he would play for a club next season whoever will be able to match his ambition.

Pogba’s current contract will expire at the end of this season. Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona and PSG have been mentioned as the interested parties to sign the midfielder for free. However, two Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also entered the race for the Frenchman.

Both English clubs have rich owners and they are ready to spend big in order to persuade the 28-year-old. The Villans and the Magpies will be eyeing for a European spot next season which will be the first step before establishing themselves as a superpower in English football.

Our View:

Letting Paul Pogba leave the club will be the right decision by Manchester United. The midfielder has failed to showcase his best consistently enough in order to earn a new contract at the Old Trafford stadium with a salary hike. Therefore, parting ways at the end of this season will be the right decision for both parties.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if the 29-year-old will be entertained by the aforementioned Premier League clubs offer or not. The midfielder has insisted on playing for a club who are ready to challenge for big titles. However, neither Aston Villa nor Newcastle United will be able to offer him that next season.

PSG are seemingly the likeliest destination for the Frenchman. The midfielder has also expressed his desire to play for the Parisiens and the Ligue 1 giants have enough financial resources to match the world cup winner’s salary demands.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently in search of a new permanent manager and the new manager will decide who he wants to keep at the club and who will be allowed to leave. So, it will be interesting to see who will succeed Rangnick at the end of this season.
