‘Varane and Matic to start’ – Manchester United predicted line-up against Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United will be travelling to the north of London to encounter Tottenham Hotspur in a crucial Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are in a crisis after failing to win in their last four league games. The pressure is high on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, following Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool. So, it is a must-win game for the Old Trafford outfit and anything but a win can lead up to the manager’s dismissal.

Meanwhile, David De Gea will surely keep his place between the sticks as the Spaniard has been a consistent performer so far this season for Solskjaer’s side. Following a flurry of bad defensive displays from the Red Devils, the Norwegian boss might be tempted to go with a back three and keep a clean sheet from this game.

So, if Raphael Varane is fit enough to start the game after recovering from a groin issue, the Frenchman should start alongside Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw will be two wing-backs for Manchester United.

After a poor performance from midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay last weekend, Solskjaer might go with Nemanja Matic and the Scotsman could start in midfield pivot alongside the Serbian due to the suspension of Paul Pogba who picked up a straight red card against the Merseyside club on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes will keep his place as the attacking midfielder just behind the two strikers. Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo should lead the line for Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United predicted line-up(3-5-2):

De Gea; Varane, Maguire, Lindelof; Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Matic, Shaw; Bruno Fernandes; Rashford, Ronaldo

Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Manchester United

After a heavy defeat against Liverpool, the pressure will be high on Manchester United and it will be tough to display free-flowing football against Tottenham Hotspur who will get the backing of their home crowd.
